First official advertising agency launched in Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Information held the first advertising forum on Monday under the auspices of Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, in the presence of Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser al Harrasi, Minister of Information.


During the event, the ministry launched the first official advertising agency in the Sultanate of Oman ‘ Izdihar’, aimed at strengthening the partnership between the ministry and various private sector institutions in the Sultanate of Oman by providing media and advertising services and benefiting from the ministry's visual, audio and print channels and electronic platforms.

In a statement, Al Yousef stressed that the launch of “Izdihar" came at a very appropriate time to organize advertising work between companies, institutions, and various media to obtain the best way of advertising at competitive prices.


“The launch of the “Izdihar” agency is the starting point of an upcoming advertising market that would provide the ministry with many advertisements that will contribute to increasing revenues”, Mohammed bin Said Al Balushi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, said.


Fatma Muhammad al Kalbaniyah, Director of the Commercial Department at the Ministry of Information, said that the commercial department links the advertiser with the ministry's advertising channels.


On the sidelines of the event, a number of private sectors institutions have signed eight agreements worth RO400, 000 with the ministry aimed at availing various media and advertising services.
