The Vice President of Sustainability at Asyad Group said that ports are an incubator for the green economy through free zones and their adjacent areas.

The Green Hydrogen Summit is expected to address all aspects of the hydrogen value chain, encompassing production, transportation, and storage challenges as well as applications.

The Hydrogen Conference will include 12 discussion sessions and a number of technical workshops, where the themes will focus on the hydrogen economy strategy and green hydrogen infrastructure in the Sultanate of Oman, and the value added in the green hydrogen chain, partnership, and investment in this field as well as green hydrogen projects in the Sultanate of Oman.

The Sultanate of Oman aims to become one of the leading countries in the production of green hydrogen in the world. Oman’s Ministry of Energy and Minerals has developed an ambitious strategy to ensure the development of a green hydrogen economy.

It is also working to promote this sector because of its positive impact on diversifying energy sources, and it constitutes a strategic opportunity for Omani and international companies to cooperate and participate in supporting energy security at the local and global levels and achieving economic diversification. The holding of the Green Hydrogen Summit is consistent with the Sultanate of Oman’s plans for an energy transition towards reducing carbon emissions, to achieve a balance between sustainable developments and limiting the repercussions of climate change, benefiting from clean technology and diversifying energy sources.
