Muscat; The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has refuted social media reports about some gangs that force people to travel with them as part of kidnapping attempts.

ROP said it has not received any reports related to this matter in all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

Meanwhile, several people said while truth must be sought and known, it is important not to spread false information.

Such false information can have a negative impact on society and reflects a negative image of the security authorities that make great efforts to provide security to everyone.

The police called on everyone not to broadcast or circulate such news that would promote the society and disturb public peace and tranquility.
