CBO participates in meeting of Governors of GCC Central Banks, People’s Bank of China

Muscat: The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) on Tuesday took part in a joint meeting between governors of GCC central banks and the People’s Bank of China.


Tahir Salim al Amri, Executive President of the CBO, headed the Omani side at the meeting, which was held via videoconferencing.


The meeting endorsed a joint action plan between GCC central banks and the People’s Bank of China. The plan covers various areas of common concern, including the system of payments, combating money laundering and terrorism financing, cybersecurity, banking technologies, digital currencies and climate change.


It also touched on developments on global economic growth, inflation and climate change risks to the financial sector’s stability.
