Agriculture minister receives FAO DG

Muscat: Dr Saud Hamoud al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, received here on Wednesday Dr Shu Dino, Director General of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and his accompanying delegation currently visiting the Sultanate of Oman.


The two officials discussed matters of common concern and exchanged views about various aspects of cooperation between Oman and the FAO, notably in the agricultural, livestock and fisheries sectors. The meeting also touched on cooperation in the fields of food security and related investments.


The FAO director general commended the comprehensive development taking place in Oman under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
