MUSCAT: Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Dr Mohammed bin Said al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs will preside over the opening of Al Salam Mosque in the Wilayat of Bushar tomorrow Monday.
The construction of the mosque was ordered by the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said. It was built in accordance with the approved engineering and technical standards and occupies a total area of 13,139 sq metres.
The new mosque has a main prayer hall with a capacity to accommodate 1,740 male worshippers in addition to another prayer hall for women which can accommodate 882 worshippers. The other facilities of the mosque include a two-storey multi-purpose hall, an accommodation for Imam and stores. The mosque is equipped with modern sound, monitoring and IT systems. — ONA
