German dailies, websites highlight Oman friendly

The German media highlighted on the last warm-up game of their team against Oman which ended 1-0 for Germany in Muscat on Wednesday night.


Deutsche Welle, Germany's international broadcaster and international media outlets, wrote in their website: 'Fullkrug the difference in flat Germany World Cup warm-up' while the detailed story said: "Surprise call-up Niclas Fullkrug scored on his Germany debut as Hansi Flick's team beat Oman in their only World Cup warm-up. The goal came after 80 minutes in which Germany were otherwise flat and posed little threat.”


'Niclas Fullkrug scores debut goal as Germany edge Oman in World Cup warm-up' was the headline of the official Bundesliga website. The rest of the story contained that 'Niclas Fullkrug scored on his Germany debut and Youssoufa Moukoko made his senior international bow as Germany scraped a win over Oman in their final game before the 2022 World Cup.”


The heading in sportbild website was 'Dusel Victory at World Cup test | Oman, that was bad!'. The German weekly sports magazine which published in Hamburg detailed in the story: ”Ironically, Werder striker Niclas Fullkrug (29) saves Germany from a super disgrace in his first international match, scoring the only goal in the 1-0 win against Oman."


Journalist Rene Kuebler from Badische Zeitung wrote an article titled under: 'The strength of the German team can hardly be estimated so far'. The article in Badische Zeitung, is the daily newspaper with the widest coverage in Baden, included that “How far can Germany get at the World Cup? After the national team's 1-0 win in the friendly against Oman it is too early to predict - the team is suffering from inconsistencies in performance."


The German players completed their last warm-up camp at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat on Thursday. Germany will begin their campaign in Qatar with a match against Japan on Wednesday. Then, they will face off Spain on November 27 in a strong clash before ending their group matches on December 1 against Costa Rica.
