Salalah: Jubilant crowds of citizens staged rallies to express allegiance and loyalty to His Majesty Haitham bin Tarik and to celebrate the 52nd National Day, in Dhofar Governorate on Wednesday.
In the Wilayat of Shaleem and Al Halaniyat Islands citizens took to the streets expressing their allegiance and loyalty to His Majesty as celebrations of the 52nd National Day went underway all across Dhofar Governorate. The march, led by Dr Masoud bin Salim al Kathiri, Wali of Wilayat of Shaleem and Al Halaniyat Islands, started near the hospital and headed to the Wali’s office.
The march was attended by the wilayat’s representative at Majlis Ash’shura, government officials, shaikhs and dignitaries.
A large number of joyous citizens and school students carried the national flags and His Majesty’s photos expressing their thanks and gratitude for His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
Dr Masoud bin Salim al Kathiri, Wali of Wilayat of Shaleem and Al Halaniyat Islands, said: “The citizens of Dhofar Governorate have come out to express their thanks and gratitude to the government under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik for the many achievements and projects that took place in the wilayat. We pray to Allah the Almighty to safeguard His Majesty and perpetuate His bounties for this dear land.”
Citizens of all age groups organized a march of allegiance and loyalty in the Wilayat of Thamrait.
In the Wilayat of Al Mazyouna, citizens staged a march with the participation of Shaikh Bakhit bin Salim al Maashan, Wali of Al Mazyouna and a number of officials, shaikhs, dignitaries, citizens and residents.
Al Maashan said that the Wilayat of Al Mazyouna, like the other wilayats, got its share of the development and progress which spanned all development and service sectors. A number of projects are currently under implementation in the wilayat including Al Mazyouna Hospital and internal roads beside other projects that will service citizens and residents.
