Conference to mark International Day for Tolerance

Muscat: The Sultanate is celebrating the International Day for Tolerance at a conference in the capital, conducted by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA).


Focusing on Sustainable Development for all, representatives from more than 50 countries and around 120 international personalities will share the goal of achieving human harmony and mutual respect, benefiting from the experiences of the participants and learning about success stories.





Dr. Mohammed bin Saeed Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs said that the conference coincides with the celebration of the International Day of Tolerance and seeks to promote mutual acceptance and peaceful coexistence between different societies and groups through “scientific, cultural and artistic activities or areas of communication.


He said the Sultanate of Oman, in cooperation with all institutions concerned with tolerance, coexistence, and understanding in this world, is striving to promote a culture of coexistence, integration, harmony, synergy, compassion for others, and human self-respect.


The conference will focus on the diversity of cultures and the role of women in promoting common human values and sustainable development, in addition to the role of youth in consolidating common human values and pioneering sustainable development.


The Omani message of tolerance and peace extends to include climate issues and the relationship between man and nature, and this is represented in preserving them and not harming them.
