MUSCAT: In line with the country’s ambition to position the Sultanate of Oman as a leading global green hydrogen hub, the Omani French Friendship Association (OFA), in collaboration with TotalEnergies EP Oman Development BV Oman Branch, organised an event on renewable energies on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at the Crowne Plaza in Qurum from 8:30 am to 11:00 am.
The conference titled “To what extent can Solar & Hydrogen play in the energy transition?” will showcase the ongoing projects and future plans in Oman in the solar and hydrogen sectors. Abdulaziz al Shidhani, DG Renewable Energy & Hydrogen at the Ministry of Energy & Minerals will be the lead speaker of the panel discussion.
Sergio Giorgi, TotalEnergies Oman Country Chair will introduce the panel with his global vision of this accelerating green sector while Georgio Akiki, Gas, Renewables & Power Key Account Manager Oman of TotalEnergies will present the solar project already running in the country.
Yann Bourles, Renewable Energy Project Developer and Zakariya al Battashi, Business Developer Renewables of TotalEnergies will explain the trends we expect to see over the short term and beyond.
Stephan Gobert, SVP HydrogenAMEA (ENGIE) will talk about how the hydrogen will impact the energy transition journey of Oman.
The panel discussion will be moderated by Mohammed al Riyami, Business Support Manager, TotalEnergies.
The Omani French Friendship Association is a non-profit association dedicated to strengthening Omani and French relationships through developing trade, economic, and cultural exchanges between the two communities.
