Two day Gulf German film fest ends

The first Gulf German Film Festival opened on Wednesday at the InterContinental hotel lawns.


During the two-day festival, three German movies with English subtitles were screened. The festival is jointly organised by the German Embassy, Swiss Embassy, Austrian Embassy in the Sultanate of Oman and the Goethe Institute..


"This is the first time that such an event is happening in the Sultanate of Oman and we are glad that the response from the movie buffs is overwhelming," Thomas Oertle, Swiss Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman told the Observer.


Two movies were shown on Thursday.


Die Wunderübung, an Austrian comedy-drama starring Michael Kreihsl was shown on Wednesday, while Swiss movie, 'The Little Mountain Boy Schellen - UrsI, an adventurous family drama starring Xavier Koller was shown on Thursday. This was followed by Hello Again - A Wedding Day and Ein Tag Für Immer, a German film.
