The Royal Oman Police (ROP) organised on Tuesday, November 1, the 2022 Investment Forum with the participation of a number of authorities to enhance partnership with the private sector, as well as review customs and trade facilities and initiatives.

The Government of the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the ROP, facilitates all commercial procedures for local traders and investors, as well as the movement of goods, whether through land, air or sea ports.

The discussion session held at the headquarters of the ROP Customs Headquarters in the Governorate of Muscat, was also attended by representatives of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, and the Royal Oman Police (Customs and Passports). The overall goal was to resolve any obstacles that companies and investors may face in their business activities in the Sultanate of Oman.

In a presentation, Maj Sulaiman Masoud al Ghafri, Director of the Bayan System, stated that the goal of the ROP is committed to continually improving the standard of services provided to the business community. ROP Customs, he noted, welcomes any suggestions to help improve the service to enable everyone to complete their transactions in the fullest manner and reduce the time spent as well as saving effort and money.

The attendees, for their part, expressed their complete satisfaction with the services provided by the Customs Administration, as well as the digital services that have been rolled out by the competent authorities.

An information campaign highlighting the ease-of-convenience and other services available to investors will be conducted in all the governorates of the Sultanate.

The official also underlined the need for eligible businesses to renew their tax exemption certificate in order to avoid any delays in the completion of transactions that may lead to unnecessary fines.

In addition, an electronic customs application will be launched soon, which will facilitate the work of many, especially for e-commerce, which will contribute to expediting and facilitating their procedures, and all procedures can be completed through this application.
