Muscat: The Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Labour on Monday signed an agreement for cooperation about initiatives of employment and on-the-job training in the two ministries. The step complements earlier initiatives and agreements inked by the two parties.

The agreement provides for citizens’ receiving specialized training at the Ministry of Defence as part of the ministry’s programme to offer employment opportunities for jobseekers in coordination with the Ministry of Labour. It also comes in pursuance of operational initiatives initiated under the directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander.

The agreement was signed by Dr Mohammed Nassir al Zaabi, Secretary General at the Ministry of Defence, and Dr Mahad Said Ba’owain, Minister of Labour.
