A number of events had been taking place across the country in celebration of Pinktober or the Breast Cancer Awareness month.

For a lot of companies, women have become front and centre in numerous Corporate Social Responsibility activities with the hope that more awareness can be made about this deadly disease.

In Muscat, Dr Rajyashtree N Kutty presented a Breast Clinical Examination and Awareness Talk, attended by a number of local women and esteemed guests. A mobile mammogram was also set onsite by Oman Cancer Association, which accommodated over 60 women during October as introduced and spreaheaded by Avani Muscat and supported by the hotel’s leadership.

Recently joining as the new general manager of the Avani property, Ismail al Tobi is eager to support and involve the local community in CSR initiatives run by Avani Muscat.

Al Tobi said that in his experience as a hotelier and his deep knowledge of Oman and the region, it is important to ensure that the community benefits from the different CSR programmes introduced by different organisations.

“Opened for a little under a year now, our team at Avani Muscat is eager to make a positive impact on our guests, visitors and to serve the wider community that we are part of. It was a great honour to host Dr Kutty and provide the audience an opportunity to learn more about their health,” Al Tobi said

“It is my personal mission to give back to those who have supported us since opening, but also to seek out local projects that are deserving of our help. I look forward to making a difference in Muscat and Oman, wherever we can,” he added.
