NIZWA: A 3D modelling laboratory, which was established with the support of Oman LNG Development Foundation, was launched in Nizwa.

It was inaugurated by Dr Hafez bin Said bin Abdullah al Rahbi, Dean of University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Nizwa, in the presence of Saif bin Mubarak bin Saleh al Julandani, Director-General of education in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate; Dr. Amer bin Nasser al Mataani, CEO of Oman LNG; and Ismail bin Suleiman al Sawafi, Director-General of Social Responsibility and Public Relations of Oman LNG.

The Modelling Laboratory project comes within the framework of implementing the Tenth Five-Year Development Plan 2021-2025 to promote a culture of innovation and to provide teachers and students with the Fourth Industrial Revolution skills like 3D printing.

Al Julandani said in his opening speech, "This project is a continuation of the existing technological projects in the centre and an extension of the foundation's support project to provide ten 3D printers to the schools of the governorate. Through the project, we look forward to helping innovators with abilities to produce their projects in a way that they can present, market and promote. Students will be trained in 3D design and 3D printers.”

The laboratory will also provide training programmes for students as well as teachers and those interested in innovations from the community.

This project will help schools to embrace the Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies.

"We take the opportunity to express our great pleasure when the private sector helps to support educational projects. We thank Oman LNG for its support to this project and others.”
