Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has floated tenders for providing services and facilities at Fins beach near Qurayat in Muscat Governorate.

Speaking on the plans to upgrade facilities for tourists in the Sultanate of Oman, Salim bin Mohammed al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, said, "A model for facilities at beaches will be presented for investment opportunities with usufruct contracts for small and medium enterprises along the Omani coasts from Muscat to Dhofar."

Last week, Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) launched water sports and adventure activities at Wadi Dayqah, the popular tourist destination.

Work is in advanced stages for revamping the Al Haffa beach in Dhofar Governorate, and will house local and international brands to meet the needs of tourists.

This project's first phase offers a wide range of exciting water sports and adventure activities, such as donut boats, kayaks, pedal boats, stand-up pedal boats, and mountain biking.

"The water sports activities have been recently launched at Wadi Dayqah as part of a broader development plan at the Wadi in collaboration with the ministry. With this development plan, we're leveraging Wadi Dayqah's popularity and unlocking its potential as a water sports and adventure tourist destination. By doing this, we'll be able to diversify our range of tourism products," Omran said.

Activities will be organised in collaboration with Salmah International and managed by Husak Adventure Centre. Activities at Wadi Dayqah will be held between 12 and 6 pm, except on Mondays.

One of the keenly-awaited projects is the opening of the zipline in Musandam Governorate, which has been initiated as part of economic diversification within the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
