National cybersecurity exercise begins

Muscat: The 8th National Cybersecurity Exercise was launched on Tuesday. The drill was organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, represented by the Oman National Computer Emergency Readiness Team (OCERT) via video call.


More than 20 government establishments participated in the exercise held under the theme of “Discovering Internal Threats”.


The two-day exercise seeks to enhance readiness and preparedness to deal with electronic risks and threats, as well as ideal ways of addressing security incidents. It also covers coordination and cooperation between the OCERT and different government establishments. It aims to raise awareness among government establishments about the mechanisms and standard procedures in handling electronic risks and threats.
