MUSCAT: National Bank of Oman (NBO) conducted a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) awareness session at its head office for all staff. Led by medical professionals from NMC Hospital, the session aimed to educate employees on essential lifesaving techniques and medical treatments that can be performed in unexpected situations in the workplace and equip them with the knowledge to identify, anticipate and respond in an emergency.

The interactive session showed how to perform CPR and gave NBO employees the chance to practice, as well as how to react in cases of choking, head injuries, ingestion of hazardous material and even a fire. Building the capacity of NBO employees will empower them to take the lead in emergencies, allowing them to create, follow and implement HSE standards, as well as assist with the review of common workplace incidents to ensure workplace safety becomes the responsibility of everyone in the organisation.
