

An undersea 5.5 magnitude earthquake occurred southwest of Indonesia's Java island shortly after 5 pm, the country's meteorology and climatology agency said on Sunday. The agency said the quake had no potential to cause a tsunami. There were no immediate reports of damage caused by the quake that occurred at a depth of 12 metres off Indonesia's most densely populated island.
The earthquake's epicentre was 131 kilometres southwest of the Indonesian capital Jakarta. -- dpa
