Jordan King's visit to boost the establishment of joint projects: OCCI chairman

MUSCAT: Engineer, Ridha Bin Juma Al Saleh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), said that the visit of King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, will boost the establishment of joint projects, enhance relation-building between the Omani and Jordanian businessmen and activate agreements and memoranda of understanding signed by the Sultanate of Oman and Jordan.


In comments to ONA, he noted that the Sultanate of Oman and Jordan have many advantages that are supportive and conducive to prosperous investment and partnership. He noted that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries stood at $160.6 million in 2021 compared to $120.1 million registered in 2020.


The number of Jordanian firms registered with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion reached 465 firms, in which Jordan contributed more than $1 billion. These firms are distributed in several sectors, including trade, construction, transportation, industry, among others. — ONA
