MUSCAT: Viji Kunjachan, Area Director of Engineering, InterContinental Muscat and IHG InterContinental Hotels Group – Oman, has been awarded the ‘Engineer of the Year 2022’ by Hotelier Middle East.
The record-breaking 1,100 nominations were narrowed down to 230 shortlisted nominees from 18 countries to choose winners in each category.
The Hotelier Middle East Awards 2022 was held at the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai recently, and saw 500 of the region’s very best hoteliers out in force.
Viji is a seasoned engineering professional with over three decades of proven results and a wide range of proficiencies relevant to the hospitality industry. About 25 of his 32-year-long professional career in the Middle East has been with the IHG InterContinental Hotels Group.
As Projects Manager he completed the major renovation of guest rooms and other public areas at a total investment of $15 million, which enhanced the guest experience.
