Legendary singer KS Chithra will receive the cultural award conferred by the Indian Social Club (ISC) Malayalam Wing at the celebrations marking Onam festival. The two-day Onam celebration will start on September 23 at 6 pm at Al Falaj Grand hall.
Amit Naranag, Indian Ambassador to Oman, will be the Chief Guest while Babu Rajendran, General Secretary of ISC will be the special guest of the event.
P Sreekumar, Convener ISC Malayalam Wing, will present the cultural award to the ace singer, who over many decades, considered an inspiration to every Indian artiste.
A concert by famous flutist Rajesh Cherthala and team will be another highlight of the Onam celebration, which is happening after a gap of two years.
'Chenda Melam' by Melam Muscat, dance performances by ISC Malayalam wing members, will also be part of the celebrations, a news release issued jointly by P Sreekumar, Convenor, Lekha Vinod, Co-Convenor and Ajith Kumar Menon, Treasurer, said.
