Oman, Lithuania explore cooperation in transport, logistics, ICT

Muscat: Eng Said Hamoud al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology met here on Wednesday with Marius Skuodis, Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania.


The two sides discussed enhancing the existing cooperation between the two countries. They also explored investment opportunities available in logistic services, ports, information and communication technology (ICT).


Al Maawali underscored the importance of developing the joint relations with Lithuania particularly laying focus on logistic services and IT, as well as expanding partnership and augmenting the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.


A visual presentation was given during the meeting highlighting Oman’s ports and their associating infrastructure and investment opportunities available in partnership with the private sector.


Oman Logistics Centre also gave a briefing on its works, tasks and initiatives. The Oman Logistics Strategy (SOLS) 2040 of which implementation supervised by the centre, was also spotlighted.


The two sides also discussed the government digital transformation programme in both countries. They also explored aspects of cooperation in digital transformation at various government sectors.


The two sides also reviewed successful experiences and sharing expertise between them.
