SUHAR: The work on the final stage of Al Khad-Sham road project in the Wilayat of Suhar in North Al Batinah Governorate resumed after a hiatus, Suhar Municipality announced.
Engineer Mohammed bin Hamad al Kendi, Director of Projects and Maintenance, said that the implementation rate at the project now stands at 80 per cent and the remaining works will be completed during the coming months. He noted that this is one of the vital projects in mountainous areas. A 7-km road that aims to bypass dangerous curves and reduce downhill driving.
The new road involves safety concrete barriers at 14 spots and 45 steel barriers distributed along the road, a number of viaducts at valleys and low-lying terrain. The road also has structures for protection against landslides and falling rocks. —ONA
