Oman bodybuilders excel at Asian meet in Kyrgyzstan

Muscat: Oman’s bodybuilders Mazin al Obaidani, Ghanim al Mamari, Sulieman al Riyami and Muneer al Luaihi claimed gold medals as Oman impressed with a total of five gold and two silver medals from the IFBB Asian Championships 2022 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. More than 800 participants from 22 countries took part in the Asian event which ran for four days during September 2 to 5.


Mazin al Obaidani bagged the gold in the men's master bodybuilding (beginners) and he also won silver medal in the men's beginners bodybuilding (75 kg) category on the opening day.


Ghanim al Mamari won two gold to secure the top place in the men's physique (170 cm) category and obtained the professional card after tough competitions against Russian bodybuilders. In the men's physique (173 cm) category, Sulieman al Riyami won gold and was crowned as the champion of all the heights category.



Muneer al Luaihi captured gold in the muscular men's physique (175 cm) category while Badar al Hosni came in fourth place in the same category. Zaeem al Fazari picked up a silver medal in the men’s classic bodybuilding category.


Said al Bahri, board member of the Oman Bodybuilding Committee and head of Oman’s delegation, thanked and congratulated all the national bodybuilders for the impressive show during the IFBB Asian Championships 2022 in Bishkek. “This achievement will add to the national sporting accomplishments in bodybuilding. This triumph came after fruitful efforts during the previous period. Special thanks to the coaching staff and the national bodybuilders for their hard work to realise this accomplishment,” he concluded.
