Al Jabal Al Akhdhar: Awareness and entertainment programmes were organised for the elderly in the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdhar recently. It was organised by the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate branch of Ihsaan Association in cooperation with the Omani Women’s Association in the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdhar, the Department of Social Development, and the Al Jabal Al Akhdhar Hospital
The aim was to bring better care for the senior citizens. The Ihsaan Association members visited the elders at their homes and understood their needs in cooperation with community health centre nurses at Al Jabal Al Akhdhar Hospital.
The visits aimed to study the health, social and psychological status and provide the necessary needs of the elderly. The team members interacted with family members on taking care of older people's health.
They discussed the most important diseases that affect the elderly, the methods of dealing with them and their treatment.
The programme also included many awareness and educational lectures to strengthen the community partnership that aim to care for the elderly. It provided them with care and awareness of the importance of honouring the aged parents.
The branch members involved the elderly in recreational activities. Ihsaan Association played a key role in the Al Jabal Al Akhdhar Tourism Festival, which was organised by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, to make the elderly and their families happy through many competitions.
