

Muscat: The Ministry of Finance has formed a joint committee with the State’s Financial and Administrative Control Authority to enhance the role of internal audit in the civilian units of the state’s administrative apparatus, activate the plan to qualify human cadres, and build a comprehensive control system that protects national capabilities and achieves control principles.
The joint committee will work to enhance the capabilities and efficiency of the staff of the internal audit units through training programs, raise the efficiency of oversight over public spending and revenue collection, and propose recommendations to grant the internal audit departments complete independence to exercise their authority related to functional aspects.
The committee aims to train 900 employees of the internal audit units and their related functions to improve the financial performance of the state by developing financial control systems and procedures, raising the financial procedures of civil units in the state’s administrative apparatus, and implementing enterprise projects according to their approved path, by adhering to the laws and financial systems and strengthening the position of the Sultanate of Oman in international and local indicators such as governance and efficiency.
