MoUs for Oman Science Festival signed

Muscat: The Ministry of Education signed three memoranda of understanding with Occidental Oman, ITHCA Group, and the Asyad Group sponsoring the Oman Science Festival which is scheduled to start from October 10 to 15.


The agreements were signed by Dr Abdullah bin Khamis Ambusaidi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education for Education, and representatives of the sponsors at the ministry on Monday.


After signing the agreement with Dr Badr bin Salem al Manthari, Executive Vice-President of the ITHCA Group for strategic affairs, Dr Ambusaidi said,“ We are pleased today to sign this agreement with the ITHCA Group. The Group will work to provide support as a gold sponsor for Oman Science Festival, joining a number of institutions in the public and private sectors that were previously signed to sponsor the activities of this scientific event."



“We in the Ministry of Education believe that the success of any national event is not based on one entity, but rather on the cohesion and concerted efforts of the various institutions. This is a priority for ministry when organising this event, which enjoys the interest and popularity of all segments of society, and targets students of schools, colleges, and universities. The festival will enabling them to learn about the latest developments in science and technology, innovation and display their skills and abilities in dealing with technology to society and its various institutions”.


Dr Al Manthari, said, “The gold sponsorship comes out of our keenness to build strategic partnerships that contribute to the promotion of effective community activities, activating the Group’s projects that are concerned with financing social investment projects. This event keeps pace with global trends based on the dissemination of science and technology, and encourage students to innovate and integrate into the digital transformation sectors”.


The third edition of Oman Science Festival aims to introduce science to students and members of society in an easy way and in an interactive way that stimulates creative thinking. It also aims to encourage students to realise the importance of science in life, urging them to innovate, creating a positive attitude towards science, innovation and scientific research, enhancing students’ skills to integrate into a knowledge-based economy, and encouraging young people to continue learning in scientific disciplines.
