MUSCAT: Oman's average crude oil production as of the end of June 2022 was 1.047 million barrels per day (bpd), representing an increase of 9.7 per cent compared to 954,900 bpd during the corresponding period of 2021.

Data released by the National Center for Statistics and Information indicated that the average price of oil until the end of June increased by 60.9 per cent to reach $90.4 per barrel compared to the same period last year.

Oman's total oil exports recorded a growth of 16.2 per cent until the end of June 2022, with China topping the list of countries importing Omani oil, lifting 123.100 million barrels during this period.

The total domestic production of natural gas in the Sultanate of Oman (plus imports) as of the end of last June increased by 4.4 per cent to reach 25.770 billion cubic metres (bcm) compared to 24.694 bcm during the same period of 2021.

The reason for this increase is mainly due to the increase in associated gas production by 7.9 per cent to reach 4.881 bcm this year, compared to 4.523 bcm until the end of June 2021.

Production of non-associated gas (including import) also increased by 3.6 per cent to reach 20.888 bcm this year, up from 20.170 bcm last year.

Industrial projects came in first place in terms of their consumption of natural gas with about 15.490 bcm (an increase of 6pc), followed by oilfields at 6.447 bcm (an increase of 2.1 per cent), power plants at 3.715 bcm (an increase of 1.4 pc), industrial zones at 120.5 million cubic metres.
