Hotels in Oman see a big boost in revenues

Muscat - The revenues of 3 to 5-star hotels witnessed a remarkable increase of 121.4 percent to RO 83,360,000 until the end of June 2022 compared to the same period in 2021.


The monthly statistical bulletin issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) said that the number of guests in 3-5 star hotels increased by 44.6 percent until the end of last June, to 770,000 guests. The occupancy rate of these hotels was 20.1 percent.


The number of Gulf guests grew 875.7 percent to 61,863 until the end of June 2022, compared to 6,340 during the same period in 2021, while the number of European guests grew by 756 percent to 21,648 inmates. The number of Omani guests decreased by 7.5 percent from 376,970 until the end of June 2021 to 348,788 by the end of June 2022.


The number of American guests until the end of last June was 27,281, an increase of 199.9 percent compared to the same period in 2021, while the number of guests from Africa was 3,921 inmates, a growth of 94.6 percent.


The number of Asian guests increased 21.4 percent from 76,328 until the end of June 2021 to 92,637.
