Female guides of the General Directorate of Education in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate participated in the summer camp programme 21 for female guides and advanced scouts in the scout camp in the Governorate of Dhofar in Sahel Jabal Ashoor plain.

The General Directorate of Scouts and Guides supervises this camp. About 13 female guides from the governorate, accompanied by a delegation leader and a female guide supervisor, participated in the programme committee.

The programme comes this year under the slogan (Together we thrive) for six days until the fourth of this month. The programme is a path for the Girl-Led Guiding Movement to make every girl feel confident in the leadership and empowered to create a better world. The programme includes many activities and events that, in turn, help to develop the skills of female guides, practice leadership, and enjoy time at work.

The scout camp aims to promote human values, principles and positive attitudes among female guides and enable them to plan for positive change. The camp also seeks to activate the role of female guides in community service. Moreover, it aims to achieve the goal of coexisting with nature, practise guiding traditions, enhance the Omani national identity in the participants' hearts and contribute significantly to developing their abilities to explore nature.

Among the most prominent programmes the camp will witness is a discussion session on (STEM) programmes in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The programme will also include workshops on female health, discovering nature through hiking trails, and challenging and adventurous stations. The guides will also train in paragliding skills.
