Six injured in accident near Haima

Muscat: The Directorate General of Health Services in Al-Wusta Governorate said that the emergency department at Haima Hospital received six patients following a traffic accident early morning.


Of these three were critically injured while two others suffered minor injuries.


Only July 26, Seven people were injured in a road accident that took place in the Al Wusta governorate on Tuesday. According to the Directorate General of Health Services in Al Wusta, the emergency department of Haima Hospital received seven patients.


Of these, one person was critically injured, two persons suffered moderate injuries and four of them got minor injuries.


On July 20, one person died and five others of an Asian nationality were injured after the tires of their vehicle burst on the Adam-Thumrait road.


Keeping the heavy rush to the Dhofar governate from all over the region, authorities have started imposing tougher measures to regulate the movement of tourists.


The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has deployed special checkpoints and patrol teams on the roads leading to Dhofar Governorate. The Directorate General of Police Aviation will also support the ROP efforts by providing flying ambulances in emergency cases such as traffic accidents occur that require urgent transportation of the injured.


ROP has advised all visitors to the Governorate of Dhofar to abide by the traffic laws and regulations and the speed limit to ensure their safety and that of the others and to pay attention to the presence of stray animals, especially at night, and sands that may accumulate on roads near desert areas.
