Oman Olympic U-23 team ended their camp in Turkey with a 4-0 defeat from Saudi’s Ettifaq FC club on Friday. The 12-day external camp featured four international preparatory matches and the national team suffered a loss in all the games. The first international warm-up game was against Iranian’s Havadar SC club and finished for the latter at 1-0. Oman team played against Bahrain twice as the first preparatory game ended 3-2 for Bahrain and they repeated their victory in the following match with 1-0 triumph. The concluding game was against Saudi’s Ettifaq FC and they managed to end the game at 4-0.

The camp was addressed on the team plan as part of preparation for Asian U-23 qualifiers to the Paris Olympic Games 2024, West Asian Championship for U-23 and the GCC Olympic Championship. Despite the four consecutive defeats that the Olympic team suffered, the camp in Turkey acted as a crucial stage of shaping the players for the forthcoming assignment. The national team squad members gained the required experience from the training sessions and from the international friendly games. The coaching staff addressed different technical issues including scoring and strengthening the defending line. The camp was also a great opportunity to build up harmony among the team players.
