The Royal Court Affairs (RCA) has launched a competition to design a logo for the upcoming Oman Across Ages Museum, which has been completed at Manah in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.

A statement from RCA said that the logo must be based on the ancient history of the Sultanate of Oman till the Blessed Renaissance, achievements witnessed during the Blessed Renaissance, also the nature and geographical diversity of the country.

The logo must be innovative and not borrowed from other logos or designs of any party, whether local or regional or international. The participant bears legal responsibility for the intellectual property rights.

The participant acknowledges that both the logo and the information describing it do not infringe the proprietary rights of any third party.

The logo should be reducible and enlargeable while retaining the clarity of all its elements. The logo can be textual, symbolic, or a combination of the two.

The creative works winning the first three places will be considered the property of the Oman Across Ages Museum.

The designers are not entitled in the future to demand the return of the submitted designs. The competition is open to all Omani creators, residents, and local institutions. Anyone can participate and submit more than one design and a maximum of three designs only. The museum reserves the right not to accept entries that do not meet the requirements. It has the right to withhold the award If the required conditions are not met. The winners of the first three places will be awarded cash prizes - first prize RO 1,500, second prize RO 800, and the third prize RO 500.

The last date for receiving the logo designs is August 25, 2022. The logo should include the name of Oman Across Ages Museum in Arabic and English.

The museum has the right to modify and add to the winning design according to what it deems appropriate, and the winner is committed to making the required modifications. The owner of the winning logo is committed to providing an integrated visualisation of the museum's visual identity and its applications derived from elements of the logo. The logo must be designed by the participant himself, and the guide for using the mark must be attached to it.

According to sources, the building includes galleries, a library, an auditorium, cafés, and social and research spaces.

The permanent exhibition space alone is 9,000 sqm and some galleries stretch more than 20 metres high.

When completed, the museum will be the largest of its kind in the region, offering visitors an interactive experience of the cultural and geographic diversity of the Sultanate of Oman.
