Oman production of crude oil, condensates surpasses 157m barrels by May 2022

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman’s production of crude oil and condensates recorded an increase by 9.4% by the end of May 2022 to reach 157,462,200 barrels compared to May 2021, according to the latest data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).


Separately, Crude oil production saw a rise by 12.9% by the end of May 2022, while condensates production declined by 2.4%.


The total average price for crude Oman oil recorded a surge by 46% to reach 80 US Dollars per barrel compared to 54.8 US Dollars per barrel in 2021.


The total exports of Oman’s crude oil and condensates went up by 16.3% by the end of May 2022 compared to the same period of the previous year.


Oman’s oil exports to Japan recorded a growth by 399.9% to reach 5,008,400 barrels till the end of May 2022 compared to 1,001,900 barrels during the same period in 2021. Oman’s oil exports to India recorded a rise by 65% during the same period.


The Sultanate of Oman’s production of natural gas (including imports) increased by 1.5% by the end of May 2022 to reach 20.401 million cubic metres compared to 20.106 million cubic metres by the end of May 2021.


The consumption of gas recorded a rise in industrial areas by 14.6%, industrial projects by 6.3% and electricity power plants by 0.7%. Meanwhile, consumption of gas in oil fields by the end of May 2022 recorded a decline by 9.8% compared to the same period in 2021.
