Muscat: The historic visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the Federal Republic of Germany ( between July 13 and 15) was the first official visit of an Omani Sultan to Germany and coincided with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of official diplomatic relations.
It illustrates the culmination of centuries of communication between the Omani and German civilizations and peoples culturally and commercially.
During the visit, discussions covered issues of common Interest at the regional and international levels.
• Bilateral meetings and field visits by the Ministers accompanying His Majesty the Sultan as part of the official delegation.
Discussions on the prospects for joint cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Federal Republic of Germany and ways to support and develop various fields to achieve the hopes and aspirations of the two friendly peoples.
His Majesty the Sultan met with a number of German business leaders and CEOs and representatives of German companies, with the aim of developing trade relations and enhancing investment opportunities between the two countries
• The signing of a Joint declaration of intent for cooperation in the field of energy between the two countries with the aim of strengthening and developing cooperation in energy-related sectors.
