The fun and thrill of Yiti's annual Eid for kids

Eid in Oman is one of the best times to experience some of the country's unique heritage and traditions. Regardless of the number of holidays, the first three days of any eid usually highlight the importance of families.

While the adults have several important duties to perform during Eid including attending different prayer times scheduled throughout the day, families recognize passing on important traditions to kids.

On the first day of Eid, we visited a small village in Yiti to witness what is one of the biggest celebrations for kids in the area. In the past, the celebration has been attended by hundreds of families living in the different villages of Yiti and the nearby Bandar Khairan but due to some challenges this year including the unpredictable rains, the event was a little bit subdued but still, it was celebrated with all the lavishness of kids dressing up to the nines.

Happening for barely two hours, this Eid for kids in Yiti is a must-see primarily because it's when adults hand out the customary Eidiyah and also because kids are given opportunities to meet with their friends and learn the great importance of the season.
