Oman takes part in forum on sustainable development

NEW YORK: Represented by the Foreign Ministry, the Sultanate of Oman took part in the ministerial meeting of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, being held at the UN headquarters in New York from July 13 to 15. The forum reviews the "Sustainable Development Goals 2030” and the impacts of coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. The Omani side was led by Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali al Harthy, Under-Secretary of the Foreign Ministry for Diplomatic Affairs.


The ministerial session was opened by UN Secretary-General António Guterres and attended by heads of states and officials representing member states. Dr Abdulla Shahid, President of the 76th Session of the UN General Assembly received Al Harthy on the sidelines of the forum. Al Harthy expressed the Sultanate of Oman’s keenness to enhance existing cooperation with the UN. He said that the Sultanate of Oman hopes to see more opportunities for the establishment of international security and peace. — ONA
