Muscat: As heavy rains have lashed a number of wilayats on Thursday due to the low pressure affecting the Sultanate, currently, rescue teams of the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) are on standby to provide assistance during this exceptional weather condition.

The rescue teams managed to rescue four persons, including children, after they were stranded in a house in a village in Jabal Shams due to the high level of rainwater. The teams were able to rescue them and hand them over to their families in a good health.

Moreover, the CDAA’s rescues team in the governorate of South Al Sharqiya were able to rescue three people after their vehicle was trapped in the Wadi Shiy’a stream in the Wilayat of Sur.

In an online statement, the authority calls on everyone to take the utmost care and caution, not to risk crossing wadis, and to stay away from low-lying places.
