Muscat: The Department of Environment in South Al Batinah Governorate, in cooperation with Royal Oman Police (ROP), arrested expat workers for burning wild trees to produce charcoal.

Legal procedures against the defendants are underway.

The Environment Authority calls on farm owners to refrain from contracting with such workers in order to avoid legal liability.
