Latest Scientific Insights issue explores impact of research on tourism

Muscat: The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation published the 35th issue of the Scientific Insights magazine, which explored a number of different reports and articles in the fields of science and innovation.


The cover story of this issue of Scientific Insights dived into the impact of research and innovation on the tourism sector. It explores the important roles of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, the Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN Group), the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation and academic institutions in enhancing the tourism sector in Oman, attracting tourists and advancing tourism services and products which contributes to allowing more people to discover the rich culture and heritage of Oman as well as the beautiful Omani landscapes.


The 35th issue also examined the development of an augmented wind turbine system using 3D printing technology, the shallow water levels at Sultan Qaboos University, the creation of a natural product that extends the shelf-life of fruits and vegetables, the relationship between scientific research and academic accreditation systems and rankings, and many more interesting articles.


Scientific Insights is a scientific journal published every three months by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation in both Arabic and English and the magazine can be accessed online through the ministry’s official social media channels.
