

Taqah: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has embarked on the maintenance of Taqah Castle, a major landmark in Dhofar Governorate.
The project, expected to be completed in the first quarter of next year, centres on renovating the walls, roofs and floors around the building.
Following the completion of the renovation project, a tender will be floated for operating the castle.
Engineer Amjad bin Ahmed al Mukhaladi, Director, Department of Maintenance and Restoration, said that the work on the project is in full swing and the restoration of the landmark will be completed in the best possible manner.
In comments to ONA, the officials affirmed that the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism attaches great importance to the restoration and maintenance of the heritage landmarks as a number of contracts have recently been signed for similar projects in different governorates. — ONA
