28 usufruct pacts inked in North Al Sharqiyah

Ibra: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning on Wednesday signed 28 land development (usufruct) agreements in the agricultural, livestock and industrial sectors in the Governorate of North Al Sharqiyah.


The agreements, signed with small and medium enterprises (SMEs), worth RO 2.670 million whose projects will be set up on a total area of 980,000 sqm.


The agreements aim to provide lands through the usufruct system to contribute to the economy, boost investment, upgrade the quality of sustainability by utilizing lands and providing the country’s demands in food security projects. This move comes in line with the National Strategy for the Governorates Development.


The agreements were signed by Dr Mohammed Ali al Mutawa, Undersecretary for Urban Planning.


With the agreements signed today, the total number of usufruct agreements signed by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning in 2022 reached 62. Those agreements are distributed in different governorates and they contribute to enhancing Oman’s food security, as well as boosting the national economy.
