MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik held an official session of talks with President Abdel Fattah el Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt at Al Alam Palace on Monday.
The session reviewed the march of the distinguished relations binding Oman and Egypt. It also explored areas of bilateral cooperation and ways of elevating them towards broader horizons to realise the aspirations of the Omani and Egyptian peoples. During the session, the two leaders exchanged views on various issues of common interest, in light of the developments at the Arab and international arenas.
The official session of talks was attended from the Omani side by HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidy, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Numani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidy, Minister of Interior, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, Sultan bin Salim al Habsi, Minister of Finance (Head of the Mission of Honour), Sayyid Dr Sultan bin Yarub al Busaidy, Adviser at the Private Office and Abdullah bin Nasser al Rahbi, Ambassador of Oman to Egypt and its Permanent Delegate to the Arab League.
Meanwhile, it was attended from the Egyptian side by Sameh Shoukry, Foreign Minister, Major General Staff Ahmed Mohammed Ali, Chief of the President's Office, Dr Hala El Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Major General Abbas Kamel, Chief of the Intelligence Service, Khalid Radi, Ambassador of Egypt to Oman and Ambassador Bassam Radi, Spokesman of the Presidency.
Earlier, President Abdel Fattah el Sisi arrived here on an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik led the welcoming party for the Egyptian President. When the jet of President Sisi touched ground at the Royal Airport, His Majesty the Sultan met the guest at the foot of the ramp, welcoming him and wishing him and the accompanying delegation a pleasant stay in Oman. — ONA
