Muscat: The Ministry of Health urged all citizens and residents get their third dose of Covid-19 vaccine if they have not yet done so, or if they have received the third dose more than nine months ago.

The dose is given free of charge to all, citizens and residents from the nearest health center of from any private health institutions that are authorized to give Covid-19 vaccinations.

This comes as the World Health Organization has confirmed that the pandemic is not over yet, calling all countries to vaccinate all health workers, the elderly and other at-risk groups.

The Supreme Committee responsible for tackling impacts of Covid-19 in the Sultanate of Oman has lifted all restrictions in the country and has officially ended its mission, at the start of June. When concluding, they stressed the importance of individuals continuing to follow a precautions lifestyle, while encouraging them to also get the booster shots.

According to the Ministry of Health , the last statistics on the infections was announced on May 19 this year. The total cases reported in the Sultanate of Oman stood at 389,473 thousand cases and 4260 deaths. The recovery rate stood high at 98.8%.
