The Weather Office said rains and active downward winds are likely to strengthen over the coming days.

"Chances of convective clouds formation and thunderstorms accompanied by active downward winds on Al Hajar Mountains and the surrounding areas today, and it is expected that cloud activity will increase gradually this week on Al Hajar Mountains starting tomorrow," Weather Office said in a statement.

The latest satellite images show a normal activity of seasonal clouds in the middle of the Arabian Sea, and forecasts indicate the chances of clouds spreading and flowing sporadically during the coming days over the Sultanate’s airspace. Chances of thunderstorms will continue on the Al Hajar Mountains during the afternoon and evening periods, and chances of scattered rain on the coasts and mountains of Dhofar Governorate, Met predicted.
