Muscat: The Board of the Public Authority for Social Insurance (PASI) on Wednesday reviewed indicators for measuring general institutional performance, status of the projects and initiatives of the first operational plan for the Authority’s vision 2040.

This came during a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Dr Mahad Said Ba Owain, Minister of Labour, Chairman of the Authority’s Board.

The Board approved the extension of exempting employers from the additional amounts incurred by them as a result of the delay in registering and notifying the Authority about the end of service of the insured employees working for them and the delay in the payment of their monthly contributions.

It also approved the exemption of those listed below from paying the additional amounts incurred by them, in accordance with the terms and conditions that will be announced.

- insured persons registered with the insurance system for Omani self-employed and their equivalents.

- Those registered with the social insurance system for Omanis working abroad and their equivalents.

During the meeting, the PASI Board also reviewed a number of accounting and oversight reports, most importantly a report issued by an independent external auditor on the results of reviewing the final accounts for the ended fiscal year, and the reports of the State Audit Institution (SAI) on the results of the review of some of the Authority’s activities during the past years.
