New RO 2m veterinary pharma project to come up in Al Buraimi

Al Batinah Development & Investment Holding Co SAOG, a publicly traded company, has announced that it has progressed plans for the establishment of a new Veterinary & Agricultural Medicines project at Al Buraimi Industrial City at a cost of around RO 2 million. The project, which involves regional partners as well, is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year.


The announcement came in a filing to the Capital Market Authority (CMA) on Thursday. The project will be managed by Syrian-based Al Farabi Company for Veterinary and Agricultural Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.


The plant will initially commence operations with six production lines for medicines in the form of injections, liquids and sterilisers, powder formulations, capsules, ointments, vitamins and feed additives.


The project aims to cover the needs of the domestic and regional markets through the appointment of agents in a number of Arab and African countries.


Al Farabi Company for Veterinary and Agricultural Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd, a leading player in this space, has more than 25 years of experience and owns more than 350 medical preparations registered under its trade name ‘Al Farabi’. The company exports its products to 14 countries in Africa, Asia and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, including the Sultanate of Oman.
