Majlis Ash’shura to host housing minster on Sunday

Muscat: Majlis Ash’shura will host Dr Khalfan bin Said al Shueili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning at the 15th regular meeting to be held next Sunday.


This was stated by Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed al Nadabi, Secretary-General of Majlis Ash’shura. He added that the council will discuss five key axes namely the general policies of housing and urban planning, the study on the reality of land development in the Sultanate of Oman, the ministry’s objectives for the Tenth Five-Year Development Plan (2021-2025), activating the ministry’s role in the projects and programmes of vital sectors within the Tenth Five-Year Development Plan and partnership with the private sector.


The statement of the minister of housing and urban planning will be the final one for the third annual session (2021-2022).


Majlis Ash'shura will also convene its16th regular meeting next Monday during which the council will discuss the report of the Health and Environment Committee on the handling of environmental damages resulting from adverse weather conditions.


The Council will also discuss the Media and Culture Committee’s report on the establishment of an interactive digital cultural platform and the establishment of children’s libraries in the governorates and the digitalization of the existing ones, Al Nadabi said.


The secretary-general of Majlis Ash’shura noted that the meeting will discuss the vision of the Services and Social Development Committee on the draft agreement with the Federative Republic of Brazil for regulating air transport services. It will also discuss an expressed desire to amend the mechanism of funding employment-related programmes in light of the vision submitted by the Youth and Human Resources Committee.


Both meetings will be open to journalists and citizens after submitting a request for attendance on the council’s website and social media platforms, the secretary-general of Majlis Ash’shura noted.
