Oman takes part in UN anti-corruption meetings

Vienna: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the State Audit Institution (SAI), is taking part in the 13th session of the Implementation Review Group of the United Nations Convention against Corruption and the Open-ended Intergovernmental Working Group on the Prevention of Corruption, being held the United Nations headquarters in Vienna until June 17.


The agenda of the 13th session includes discussions on the mechanism for reviewing the implementation of Chapter 2 of the Convention on preventive measures, and Chapter 3 on criminalization and law enforcement, in addition to discussing ways to enhance international cooperation and the use of information and communication technology in implementing the Convention.


The meeting of the Open-ended Intergovernmental Working Group on the Prevention of Corruption will focus on discussing the implementation of the decisions taken by the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption. In addition, the meeting will discuss the mechanism of using information and communication technology for the implementation of the Convention and the challenges and good practices in the areas of awareness, education, training and research related to combating corruption. — ONA
